PONDA: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that in the 60th year of liberation, the state should start rebuilding temples destroyed by the Portuguese.
“In the 60th year of liberation, we have to start rebuilding temples destroyed by Portuguese. I am not asking for anything else. I am just asking you’ll to give us strength to reinstate Hindu Sanskriti and Mandir Sanskriti in the state,” said Sawant.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the revamped Tourism Infrastructure at Mangeshi, Ponda.
He further urged politicians not to compare human beings with the gods and goddesses as they cannot be equated with each other.

Sawant said that people should not fall prey to the false campaign of some Political parties that are equating and comparing human beings with the goddess Shantadurga for their vested interest.
He opined that human beings can’t be equated with gods and goddesses.
CM Sawant further mentioned that in the second phase, the government would conduct tourism development work which would cost around Rs 22 crore at Mangueshim.
“The double engine BJP government is totally committed to Goa’s overall development,” he added.
Later, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude said he had planned the Temple Town City Project as Priol Constituency has maximum famous temples. He also urged not to fall prey to false promises of a monthly Rs 5000 income scheme by some new Political parties. BJP has finalized all schemes with income criteria and is beneficial to people,” Gaude said.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Union Minister Shripad Naik, Art and Culture Minister were present for phase one of tourism development infrastructure work at Mangueshim comprising 58 shops, toilet block, and parking facility near Manguesh Temple.
Tourism Department MD Nikhil Desai, Mangeshi Temple President Subray Nadakarni, and Sarpanches of various Panchayats in Priol were present on this occasion.
