PONDA: With lack of no maintenance , the grass is grown up like paddy crop , damaged walking treck the Bahusaheb Bandodkar ground at Kashimutt Bandora had lost its Charm. Thelocals are demanding with PWD to handover the Bahusaheb Bandodkar Football ground to local Bandora Panchayat or the Sports Department.
The hundreds of users going for walking on treck said they don’t understand whether it is football ground or a paddy crop . The Bahusaheb Bandodkar Football ground constructed in 2015 is in neglected state. The walking treck is seen damaged at many places , while the football ground is seen with grown up grass and the surrounding areas to ground are with grown up bushes which according to people coming for walk is ideal situation for raptiles .
According to Dinesh Gaunekar he and other locals had raised the ground issue several times in gramsaba passing resolution demanding that PWD handover the ground possession back to Bandora Panchayat . Since past more than four years We are making this demand he said . Dinesh said before its construction and renovation the locals players used to play football and cricket . However later its possession was handed over to PWD which Constructed the football ground.
The locals were assured that the PWD would maintain the ground however walking treck and ground is not maintained by pwd. the local also finding it difficult to get the ground for their regular grounds and need to obtain Special permission from PWD . , Dinesh said looking the ground situation it is cleared that PWD is failed to maintain ground which need to properly maintain as people uses its walking track .
He said there are two Schools in Bandora Panchayat and both have no grounds . Incase Panchayat takes its possession from PWD it would be beneficial for school students as well as local youths for playing football ground . Another local said this ground should be either handover to Panchayat or sports Department so that it could be well maintained . He said the ground in possession of Sports department.ace well maintained .
