PANAJI: A ‘yellow alert’ has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for Goa on November 23 and 24. The alert warns locals of the possibility of thunderstorms with lightning and winds gusting to between 30 and 40 kmph in isolated areas.
Additionally, until Sunday, the advisory predicts light to moderate rainfall in a few locations. The IMD predicted dry weather for both of the state’s districts on November 21 and 22, but it did not state why the weather had changed.
Similar to what was seen on November 20, haze or light fog is anticipated on November 21. On November 23, however, isolated thunderstorms and light to moderate rain are predicted by the IMD.
Over the next three days, similar weather is predicted to persist in a few locations. For the next four to five days, it is predicted that the minimum temperature will stay comparatively steady.
During the anticipated period of increased weather activity, residents and authorities are advised to stay informed about weather alerts and take appropriate precautions.
The ‘yellow alert’ alerts the public and authorities to the need of being aware and prepared, and it urges them to take the necessary precautions to ensure safety during inclement weather.
