MORMUGAO: Mormugao youths take up the Herculean task of Cleaning the Mormugao taluka by conducting cleanliness drives in several places. Xencor Polgi, an anti-coal activist, has spearheaded this young talented force to enforce this green initiative in the Mormugao.
Goans across Goa know a green warrior standing in Akimbo pose and giving his commentary on several issues from Goa. This anti-coal activist has not only restricted his greener vision to the videos but has decided to go one step ahead and undertake cleanliness drives across the Mormugao taluka with the support of the local youths.
When contacted, Xencor Polgi said that we must keep our surroundings clean and save mother earth.
He said just giving sweeping statements and posting pictures and messages on World Environment Day and earth day won’t change anything. “To save ourselves and this planet, we all need to come together and follow a greener and non-polluting lifestyle. The first step to being green is to stop littering waste everywhere. Proper usage of waste bins will help in a big way to keep our surroundings clean,’ he said.
