CANACONA: Canacona Police have arrested a man after allegedly catching him red-handed with 1,040.3 grams of suspected ganja near the cemetery behind the Canacona bus stand.
According to the state complaint filed by PSI Ramdas Doifode of Canacona Police Station, the accused has been identified as Shrinath Vaddar, a resident of Chaudi, Canacona, and originally from Uttara Kannada, Karnataka.
The accused was allegedly found in illegal possession of flowering or fruiting tops of the cannabis plant, suspected to be ganja, between 1.53 pm and 3.38 pm on September 10, 2026.
The seized substance has been valued at approximately ₹52,000.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Vishal Velip of Canacona Police Station.
