PANAJI: It was a privilege to celebrate the 10th International Yoga Day with children with special needs, in alignment with the vision of our PM Narendra Modi.
We discussed the profound importance of yoga in our daily lives and how it can be seamlessly integrated into our routines for better physical and mental well-being. With its ancient roots and holistic benefits, yoga promotes balance, flexibility and mindfulness, making it an invaluable practice for everyone, especially children with special needs.
Children from various institutions, including Child Care Institutes, Bal Kalyan Ashram in Ponda, Matruchaya Homes in Ponda, Balika Kalyan Ashram in Madgaon, and El Shaddai Homes in Mapusa, participated in large numbers with remarkable enthusiasm.
Also present on the occasion were Director DHS Dr Rupa Naik, Deputy Director Directorate of Women & Child – Goa Jyoti Dessai, Director AYUSH Dr Minal Joshi, CDPOs from DWCD and other health officials from DHS.
It was a positive and uplifting experience to join children from Child Care Institutions (CCI) in celebrating the 10th International Day of Yoga. Organized by the Government of Goa, State AYUSH Society, and Directorate of Women & Child – Goa, the event highlighted the importance of yoga in promoting mental and physical well-being.
As the Health Minister, I urge everyone to pledge to make yoga a part of their daily routine. Yoga helps improve health conditions, alleviates chronic pain, prevents illnesses, and keeps the mind sharp and focused. Yoga truly unites us, fostering health, harmony, and well-being.
