PANAJI: A controversy has emerged within the Goa Congress over the PAC meeting held with AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, with Goa Congress president Amit Patkar saying he was not informed about the meeting.
Patkar said he received no intimation about the meeting and had no information about what was discussed. Asked why he was not invited, Patkar reportedly said, “Ask Girish Chodankar.”
However, Congress leader Girish Chodankar rejected Patkar’s claim, saying Patkar had in fact been invited to the meeting.
Chodankar said Congress Working President M.K. Sheikh had shown evidence that he made a phone call to Patkar and also sent him a WhatsApp message regarding the meeting.
The conflicting claims have triggered questions over communication and coordination within the Goa Congress leadership as the party prepares for the 2027 Assembly elections.
While Patkar maintains that he was not informed about the PAC meeting, Chodankar has asserted that the party has evidence to establish that an invitation was extended to him.
