BICHOLIM: In a swift operation, Bicholim Police rescued a kidnapped minor girl from Karnataka within three days of the incident.
According to police, a woman from Bicholim lodged a complaint on April 5 stating that her minor daughter (name withheld) had been kidnapped by an unknown person. She also reported that gold ornaments worth ₹10 lakh and cash of ₹20,000 were missing from their residence.
An offence was registered at Bicholim Police Station, following which special teams were formed comprising LPSI Archana Sharma, PSI Rashmir Parab Matondkar, and PC Dayesh Khandeparkar under the supervision of PI Vijay Rane Sardesai.
Police launched an intensive investigation using technical surveillance, human intelligence, and CCTV footage analysis. On April 7, it was traced that the minor girl was in Bagalkot, Karnataka.
Acting swiftly, the police team rushed to Karnataka and, with assistance from Kudal Sangam Police Station, successfully traced and rescued the minor girl at around 1:30 am on April 8 from the Sangameshwara Fair at Kudal Sangam.
Police also recovered gold ornaments worth ₹10 lakh and cash of ₹20,000 from the possession of the minor girl, which were seized under panchanama.
Further investigation is being carried out by LPSI Archana Sharma under the supervision of senior officers.
