Panaji: Unidentified thieves decamped with gold ornaments from a three-storey bungalow at Kadamba Plateau in Old Goa, police said.
The theft occurred on Sunday night on the second floor of the house and came to light on Monday morning when the owner, Rajiv Arora, found a wardrobe open and a jewellery box lying on the bed.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry into the bungalow, raising suspicion about how the accused gained access. House staff were initially questioned but have been ruled out.
The value of the stolen ornaments has not yet been disclosed.
Old Goa police are scanning CCTV footage from the area and said they have obtained some leads. Efforts are underway to identify and trace the accused.
