New Delhi: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has termed the allegations emerging from the Nashik office of Tata Consultancy Services as serious, assuring that a thorough investigation is underway and strict action will be taken against those found responsible.
Addressing the issue, Fadnavis said the matter is highly sensitive and confirmed that multiple agencies, including central authorities, have been activated to examine the case in detail. He emphasised that the government is committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring accountability at all levels.
The controversy involves allegations of harassment and religious conversion at the company’s Nashik facility, which has prompted a broader investigation by law enforcement agencies. According to officials, a total of nine cases have been registered so far, with one at Deolali Camp police station and others at Mumbai Naka, indicating the scale of the probe.
In response to the situation, TCS has directed employees at its Nashik office to work from home as a precautionary measure, citing safety and convenience. The move comes as investigations continue and concerns around workplace conditions remain under scrutiny.
Meanwhile, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, described the allegations as deeply concerning and distressing. He announced that an internal inquiry has been initiated, led by a senior executive, to examine the claims thoroughly.
Authorities are now focusing on gathering evidence and reviewing complaints to determine the extent of the issue. The case has drawn significant attention, with both government and corporate leadership indicating zero tolerance for any wrongdoing.
