Margao: Colva Police have launched an investigation into alleged illegal sale of e-cigarettes in the Seraulim–Colva area following a complaint by local residents.
Police said that residents approached the Colva Police Station on Tuesday evening, prompting authorities to dispatch a team to verify the claims.
During the inquiry, officials identified a scrap yard in the locality where 13 suspicious individuals were found. All were brought to the police station for further questioning and verification, police said.
Officials also noted that a similar case had been reported a few months ago, during which e-cigarettes worth ₹70,000 were seized and two persons were arrested.
Police Inspector Vikram Naik warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found involved in the illegal sale or distribution of e-cigarettes.
Further investigation in the matter is underway.
