PERNEM: A 19-year-old youth was found dead at his residence in Madhlawada, Parcem, on Wednesday, with Mandrem Police registering an unnatural death case.
Police said they received a call from the Medical Officer of CHC Tuem at around 6.32 pm on September 16, informing them that a person had been brought to the casualty department in a suspected hanging case.
During the preliminary enquiry, the deceased was identified as Sujal Parsekar, 19, son of Shyam Parsekar, a resident of Madhlawada, Parcem.
According to the statement of the deceased’s father, the youth allegedly died following an episode of anger.
Mandrem Police subsequently registered UD Case No. 37/2026 under Section 194 of the BNSS, 2023.
Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Jaydeep R Palyekar of Mandrem Police Station.
