TALEIGAO: Tejasvini Diukar, a resident of Taleigao, has complained to the Porvorim police station that two people defrauded her brother, who is currently overseas, out of Rs 36 lakh by pretending to sell him a store on CHOGM Road in Porvorim.
In her complaint, Diukar claimed that Rohan Hoble from Merces and Neha Malgaonkar from Socorro, Porvorim, deceitfully persuaded her brother Girish Murgaonkar to deposit Rs 36 lakh for a shop purchase agreement in June 2023.
Tejaswini Siddesh Divkar from Taleigao and her brother Guirish Murgaokar were promised a business along Chogm road by the two accused in June 2023, according to police findings.
The complainant and her brother were shown a roadside shop on Chogm Road by the accused, who allegedly accepted Rs 36 lakh from the complainant in exchange for the shop.
Girish Murgaonkar, meanwhile, found employment overseas. The woman complained to the Porvorim Police station on Tuesday because the accused failed to turn over the store or return the money.
Under the direction of Police Inspector Rahul Parab, PSI Sitaram Malik is conducting an additional investigation into the case that Porvorim police filed against the accused.
