PANAJI: In an exciting comeback, Rebello Pandal Maina defeated Chandrawaddo Boys Fatorda 3–2 to book their spot in the quarterfinals of the 5th All Goa 8-a-side Inter Village Football Tournament, organized by the Davorlim Sports and Cultural Club at Laymati Ground, Davorlim.
Chandrawaddo Boys started the match with high intensity and quickly took a 2–0 lead, thanks to goals from Clencio Pinto and Franson in the 7th and 10th minutes respectively. They maintained their lead going into halftime.
However, the second half saw a dramatic turnaround. Rebello Pandal Maina returned to the pitch with renewed determination and dominated possession. Joywin Carneiro pulled one back in the 30th minute, followed by an equalizer from Nickson Castanah in the 45th minute.
As the match seemed headed for a draw, Joywin Carneiro stepped up again in the dying minutes, netting his second goal with a well-placed finish that sealed a memorable 3–2 victory for Rebello Pandal Maina.
