MAPUSA: Mapusa Police arrested a 22-year-old man and seized 2 kg of suspected ganja, valued at around Rs 2 lakh, during a narcotics raid at the New KTC Bus Stand parking lot on Wednesday night.
According to police, the raid was conducted between 8.45 pm and 10.45 pm on September 16 after the police team received prior information. PSI Mangesh Palni, along with personnel from Mapusa Police Station, carried out the operation.
The accused was identified as Vishal Kumar Manjhi, 22, son of Jay Kumar Manjhi, a resident of Nima Chak, Panki, Palamu, Jharkhand. Police said he was caught with the suspected narcotic substance during the raid.
The suspected ganja, estimated to be worth Rs 2 lakh, was seized under a panchanama. Police also recovered Rs 500 in cash from the accused.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Bablo Parab.
