PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that his party is open to receiving support from any regional party in their quest to win the 2024 general elections.
Sawant expressed confidence in winning both Lok Sabha seats in Goa.
“There are about 160 days remaining until the Lok Sabha election. The election preparations have begun. Additionally, we have thoroughly examined our strategy for winning both Goa seats,” Sawant stated.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s central government schemes have benefited almost 99 percent of the state’s families,” he said, urging people to support the Bharatiya Janata Party.
In response to a query, Sawant said, “We also welcome the regional parties to support us to win the upcoming Lok Sabha.”
The BJP holds 33 seats in the 40-member Goa Legislative Assembly, with the backing of five MLAs; the opposition holds seven seats.
With the backing of two Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party MLAs and three Independents, the BJP currently has 28 MLAs.
