PANAJI: PANAJI: During a raid at the Panaji Municipal Market on Monday, police detained 23 individuals for engaging in a card game of chance, specifically “Rummy.”
As evidence, several gaming items and cash totaling Rs 1,26,630 were confiscated.
In accordance with Sections 3 and 4 of the Gambling Act and Section 112(2) of the BNS-2023, a case has been filed against the parties implicated under Crime No. 157/2024 at the Panaji Police Station.
Goa Police’s dedication to upholding the law and discouraging unlawful activity is reflected in these legislation, which are intended to stop illegal gaming and preserve public order, stated Superintendent of Police (North), Akshat Kaushal.
