CALANGUTE: Calangute police has arrested 30-year-old Anjuna resident Dinesh Patni on suspicion of snatching cell phones from visitors.
Four stolen phones were also found in his possession by the police.
The offender, a Gujarati native, was arrested by police after they discovered him acting strangely close to Bhodkovodd, Calangute. The accused tried to run away after being told to halt, but a police policeman pursued and apprehended him.
According to the police, Patni admitted to snatching cell phones from different Calangute sites.
According to police, the accused has been placed under arrest in accordance with section 303(2) of the BNS 2023, and additional investigations are underway.
