PONDA: A 46-year-old man was found dead at his residence in Nageshi, Bandora, Ponda on Tuesday, prompting a police enquiry into the cause of death.
According to police, a phone call was received from one Pandurang Marathe informing them that the man, identified as Dhaiwat Waghmare, a native of Amravati, Maharashtra and residing in Bandora, was lying unconscious at home. Police personnel, along with a 108 emergency response team, immediately visited the scene and found the man unresponsive on his bed. The 108 staff later declared him dead.
During initial enquiry, the deceased’s sister informed police that Waghmare had been suffering from high blood pressure and asthma for the past 10 years.
Police conducted the scene of unnatural death (U.D.) occurrence panchanama and inquest panchanama. The body has been preserved at the South Goa District Hospital in Margao for medico-legal procedures.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sushant Gaonkar of Ponda Police Station.
