MARGAO: A 57-year-old woman, Neelima Bhat, a resident of Gogol, Margao and native of Shiroda, Ponda, was declared brought dead at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, on June 15, 2025.
As per police sources, the deceased had been unwell for the past 5–6 days. On the morning of June 15, her family took her to Trimurti Hospital for treatment, but she reportedly declined to be admitted. She had a known history of diabetes and thyroid-related issues and was under regular medication.
Following an inquest and post-mortem examination conducted by the Police Surgeon, the cause of death was certified as “Acute Myocardial Ischemia consequent to chronic occlusive coronary artery disease.”
The body was handed over to the family for final rites. Further inquiry is being carried out by PSI Ramrai Naik of Fatorda Police Station.
