PORVORIM: Traffic police have recorded 580 overspeeding violations in just 10 days on the Porvorim elevated corridor, where the prescribed speed limit is 65 km/h.
The violations were detected after speed cameras were installed on the flyover, which opened to traffic on September 11.
The high number of cases has drawn attention to speeding on the newly opened elevated stretch.
Since its opening, the flyover has also witnessed four accidents, including a fatal crash on September 13 in which two people lost their lives.
The enforcement data comes amid concerns over road safety on the corridor, with traffic authorities monitoring vehicle speeds through the newly installed cameras.
