PANAJI: Goencho Avaaz bestowed the title of ‘worst and most incompetent government’ upon Pramod Sawant and his administration for their abysmal governance and their inability to provide Goans with something as basic as 24/7 water supply.
Commenting on the dire challenges that the common man is facing due to the lamentable performance of the BJP government, Swapnesh Sherlekar, President of Goencho Avaaz said: ‘’Today the lies of Pramod Sawant stand exposed with PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar now forced to admit that there is an acute shortage of water in Goa and that people’s demand for water isn’t being met thus proving that the BJP has truly earned their sobriquet of ‘jumla party’. Yet CM Sawant is now brazenly promising 16,000 litres of free water to every household without even bothering to address the acute and chronic water shortage problems faced by Bardez, Pernem, Bicholim and a host of other villages.
Capt. Viriato Fernandes, Convenor of Goencho Avaaz said: ‘’Never has any other government in Goa, apart from the BJP, forced so many different groups of people to come out on the streets to protest for their basic rights. This is a government whose only priority is self-promotion and self interest. Yet this uncaring and heartless government is brazenly making audacious and fake promises when it cannot fulfil the very basic right of every Goan to enjoy uninterrupted water supply. At the time of Manohar Parrikar’s tenure, it was announced in the Assembly that the Assonora plant capacity will be increased. Five years later, there is barely any progress. The people of Goa have a right to know why the work order took so long to be issued and when their misery is going to come to an end.’’
Roshan Mathias, Vice President of Goencho Avaaz said: ‘’ What does one say about a government that is unable to provide its people with even basic amenities like water supply? Since the accidental CM Sawant and his administration came into office, the swift decline of Goa is getting progressively worse, causing untold misery and hardship to Goans. Sawant has taken Goa backwards by decades and will forever be remembered for his legacy as the architect of Goa’s destruction. Now Goans have the opportunity to change their destiny by electing a government that will truly serve the interests of the people and the state of Goa. This is an opportunity for Goans to make Goa ‘BJP mukt’. Let us all come together to claim back the Goa that has been lost due to the incompetence of the BJP government.’’
