PANAJI: Two years ago CCP had purchased a “Bandicoot” machine for mechanical sewage cleaning at a cost of 40+ lakhs, but it looks like some political bandicoots have run off with it, as no one has seen it in action.
In the recent parliament session, the Modi Govt shamelessly gave a reply stating that ZERO manual scavenging incidents have been recorded in the past five years. Perfect case of “ostrich governance”.
While the AAP has completely banned manual scavenging in Delhi and deployed more than 200 machines, Goa is still not able to enter the 21st century thanks to the regressive mindset of the BJP.
