PANAJI: The Aam Aadmi Party has launched the Aam Aadmi Party Doctor Helpline in Goa to provide medical consultation to people who are COVID positive or have symptoms of COVID disease.
Goans, who are COVID positive or are showing symptoms of COVID-19, and need medical consultation can call on the Aam Aadmi Party Doctor Helpline in Goa at 7504 7504 75. The helpline is operational every day between 9am to 6PM.
On the occasion of the launch, AAP Goa Convener Rahul Mhambre said, “We are launching this helpline today to help people who are in home isolation and need doctor consultation, or those who have symptoms of COVID.”
He added, “Goans today are suffering because of the state’s ill-managed healthcare system, but we are here to help them in these difficult times. Anyone who needs medical consultation can now call on the helpline and receive treatment without having to wait to get a doctor’s appointment. We hope this will help Goans and provide the much-needed support.”
AAP-led Delhi government pioneered the home isolation model last year that is now being used across India and the world. Today, it is a global case study that is being used to treat patients with mild symptoms. This, in turn, helps free up hospital beds for critical patients. Under this model, the Delhi government monitors the condition of patients through teleconsultation facilities. Patients under home isolation receive calls daily from Delhi government doctors and nurses to ensure their well-being, and to provide any necessary assistance. Along with this, the patient also receives counseling from doctors to help them tide through this difficult time. Mhambre said, “Patients receive daily morale-boosting calls and as a result, feel supported.”
Recently, Ishita Choudhary, a COVID positive patient in Delhi who recovered under home isolation, took to social media to share her positive experience. She said, “In the last 10 days since I tested positive, without fail, every single day I have received a call from the health department of the Delhi government. Morning and night. They are something I didn’t know governments could be – caring. That a government asks what they can give, not what they can take.” Choudhary added, “Thank you for not forgetting to call.”
AAP convenor Rahul Mhambre said, “It is our responsibility to help people, and the Aam Aadmi Party is taking on this responsibility. We will run this helpline and provide the assistance that Goans need today. We care for Goans, and we will do everything to take care of them.”
