PANAJI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has targeted Goa Forward Party (GFP) leader Vijai Sardesai, asking him to clarify whether he stands with what the party has described as a “BJP-Congress joint venture” or with the people of Goa.
AAP Goa president Valmiki Naik alleged that the BJP and Congress have been involved in political defections over the years and claimed that this trend could continue ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
Naik said the proposed Goa First alliance would remain open to political forces and individuals other than the BJP and Congress. He claimed the alliance aims to provide an alternative to politics marked by defections and corruption.
AAP also questioned Sardesai’s position amid the evolving political alignments in Goa, urging him to make his stand clear on the BJP-Congress relationship alleged by the party.
Naik further alleged that Congress defections could recur, citing Girish Chodankar’s return as GPCC president and his claim that Chodankar had been at the helm during previous waves of defections.
