PANAJI: The Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday said that the government’s decision to scrap the recruitment of junior engineer posts in the Public Works Department proved that the BJP had used Goan Youth as an election gimmick.
It may be recalled that the AAP had exposed the job scam in the PWD sector before the elections.
AAP stated that favouritism in job allocation is unfair to Goa’s youth, and now, CM Pramod Sawant should also inquire into the recruitment scam at the health department.
AAP Goa unit President Adv. Amit Palekar had previously accused PWD of appointing 316 people without merit. Also, he had claimed that no recruitment process was followed and that people had been appointed before appointment letters had been issued.
The BJP government on Tuesday submitted before the Bombay High Court at Goa that they would be scrapping the controversial recruitments of the post of Junior Engineers in the PWD after the vigilance committee found discrepancies in the recruitment process.
According to the AAP, the recruitment conducted by the PWD in advance of the recent assembly elections was a strategy of the BJP government to garner votes from the young Goans. The BJP government, however, stood exposed after their own minister revealed the job scam, as well as AAP, brought many facts before the media.
