PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has advised the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries Departments to intensify awareness campaigns and collaborate with other departments to achieve 100% coverage of all Government schemes by the end of 2025.
Sawant convened a comprehensive review meeting at Mantralaya, Porvorim, with all Taluka Nodal Officers and HODs from various Government departments.
The meeting focused on assessing the progress of the Swayampurna Goa program and ongoing special drives across the state.
The Chief Minister lauded the exemplary work carried out by Swayampurna Mitras and TNOs in their respective Village Panchayats.
He highlighted that approximately 3.14 lakh individuals in the state have directly or indirectly benefited from the program. Special mention was made of the “Vision for All” initiative, under which over 2 lakh students from Classes I to X in Government and aided schools underwent eye screenings. As part of the initiative, 3,439 students were provided spectacles free of cost.
During the meeting, Chief Minister gathered valuable feedback and suggestions from the TNOs and HoDs.
He also reviewed the progress of special drives conducted by five key departments: Women and Child Development (WCD), Legal Metrology, Health, Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd, and Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).
These drives, which covered 26 locations across the state between January 1 and January 6, 2025, delivered a range of Government services and schemes to over 2,000 individuals.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for TNOs to conduct regular review meetings with Swayampurna Mitras in the presence of Zonal Agricultural Officers (ZAOs) and Block Development Officers (BDOs) at least once a month.
He emphasized that this move will ensure Government benefits reach every deserving individual in the state.
He further underlined the critical role of departments like Handicraft, Textile and Coir; Skill Development; and Rural Development in driving self-reliance in village economies.
These departments, he noted, can empower rural women by offering skill development programs tailored to their needs and providing effective marketing platforms for their products.
This review meeting reaffirmed The Government’s commitment to ensuring inclusive development and delivering essential services to every corner of the state.
