Team Goemkarponn
FATORDA: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President Vijai Sardesai has launched a statewide membership drive, appealing especially to the youth to join the party, which he described as a key alternative to safeguard Goa’s interests and identity.
Addressing the launch event, Sardesai questioned public satisfaction with the current situation in the state, highlighting what he claimed were rising unemployment levels, with a large number of educated youth still seeking jobs. He alleged that employment opportunities have been commercialised and welfare schemes are not effectively reaching the people.
He further criticised the government, accusing it of mismanagement, lack of sensitivity, and growing public frustration even within ruling circles. He also raised concerns over what he described as an increase in violent incidents, environmental damage linked to coal-related activities, forced infrastructure expansion projects, and the sale of local land to outside interests.
Sardesai also expressed concern over what he termed growing social divisions along religious and caste lines in Goa, stating that the state’s traditional harmony was under threat. He claimed that the current situation was unprecedented in the post-liberation period.
Reiterating his party’s position, he said GFP stands as a strong alternative for those seeking to protect Goa’s rights and identity, stressing that youth participation is essential in shaping the state’s future.
Calling for unity among Goans, Sardesai urged citizens to come together under the idea of “Goemkarponn” and work collectively for the state’s progress. He invited interested individuals to join the party through its official membership portal.
