PANAJI: Workers employed in 20 scheduled categories in Goa will be entitled to a revised Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) of ₹154 per day from October 1, 2026, following a fresh notification issued by the Labour and Employment Department.
The revised rate applies to a wide range of occupations and industries, covering establishments such as shops, hotels and restaurants, besides construction, pharmaceutical units, private healthcare facilities, transport, manufacturing and agricultural activities.
The Labour and Employment Commissioner issued the order on November 5, specifying that the revision was worked out using the average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Industrial Workers recorded during the first six months of 2026.
The adjustment is aimed at factoring in changes in the cost of living while determining the variable component of wages payable to workers in the notified employment categories.
