PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that Goan women will be provided with subsidized loans to buy auto rickshaws.
“We will be starting Pink rickshaw in Goa; women in the state who are self-employed will be provided with subsidized loans to purchase auto rickshaws. 17 women are taking training for the same,” said CM Sawant.
Speaking on petrol prices, CM Sawant said that Goa has already reduced prices by Rs 7 a litre.
“Six months earlier, my government reduced the petrol rates by Rs 7 per litre when the PM had requested. Now PM has requested those states who had not decreased the prices,” he said.
Sawant also said that he chaired a meeting with State Disaster Management Authority for Monsoon Preparedness at Seminar Hall, Secretariat. Minister for Waste Management Atanasio Monserrate was also present along with others.
“All our Taluka centres will be available 24×7 from May 15 to address any kind of emergency. We also discussed all aspects of training for the staff,” he added.
Sawant also urged people to join hands with disaster management and that they will be given appreciation certificates from the government.
“I request youth from Goa to join hands disaster management and that they will be given appreciation certificates from government,” CM Sawant.
