PANAJI: Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vishwajit Rane today hit out at Leader of Opposition (LoP) Michael Lobo saying that he should refrain from playing the victim and that it only authenticates the fact that there are a lot of wrongdoings in the ODP of Calangute, Candolim, Nagao, and Parra.
“I am surprised to read the statement of the Leader of Opposition in Goa. He should refrain from playing the victim. This only authenticates the fact that there are lot of wrongdoings in the ODP of Calangute, Candolim, Nagao & Parra. Let’s wait for the report to come out; a survey by survey report will be shared with the citizens of the state of Goa,” said Rane.
He further said that it was interesting to note the area of Calangute and Candolim before the formation of the ODP and after the ODP was formed, explaining the wrongdoings. Similarly, the area of Nagao and Parra prior to the formation of ODP and after the ODP speaks volumes of the fact regarding my statement on the ODP and needs to be put forward to the people of the state of Goa.
“A detailed investigation will be taking place. I can assure the people of the state of Goa, all these areas, which are non-development slops, Khazan areas, Tenanted and low lying fields, all these areas will be reverted within the provisions and powers vested by the Town & Country Planning Department,” he added.
Minister Vishwajit Rane also mentioned to the Leader of the Opposition that using public office for personal gains is not acceptable.
“Once these reports are public after the scrutiny is completed, we will leave it to the public to analyze and let the law take its course,” Rane added.
