PANAJI: Every year Akhil Gomantakiya Daivadnya Brahmin Youth Association (AGDBYA) celebrates Children’s day in a rural part of Goa. This year AGDBYA chose 2 schools i.e. Govt. Primary School, Curchorem and Govt. Primary School, Gajanan – South Goa on 25th Nov 2023.
The event started with the lighting of a lamp by the founder members of the association and the teachers. AGDBYA President Mr. Prashil Salkar welcomed all the guests and children. Special Guest, Retired teacher Mrs. Shalan Ashok Shirodkar along with other teachers praised and thanked the association for choosing and celebrating the Children’s Day in their school.
Activities like colouring, drawing and painting were conducted for children from 1st std to 4th std respectively. Students also demonstrated their talent by telling stories, reciting poems and singing songs, in short AGDBYA explored the hidden talents in rural Goa.
AGDBYA distributed drawing /pencil kits/ crayons and gifts to all the students. Also, Educational materials like storybooks and educational charts were donated to the school by the association. All the children enjoyed the refreshments and snacks given by AGDBYA.
The program was concluded by giving a speech by AGDBYA Secretary, Rohit Vernekar. He thanked all the AGDBYA volunteers, children and teachers present.
