CANACONA: Keeping the Christmas spirit alive, Carol singing from house-to-house and alive Crib marred the weekend two days.
Infant children and grown-ups alike dressed up in red, white green attires moved in groups singing Christmas carols entered houses, praying and passing a message of joy and happiness and distributed sweets to everyone in the house on Friday.
Agonda having 10 Somudai, some of the larger somudai groups broke-up into two-three groups , began at about 4 pm and and some of the somudais winded-up their carols singing party by 11 pm on Friday night.
On Saturday led by Agonda Parish Youth surprised everyone by moving with a live crib, and passing a message of love and compassion displaying the ills society is heading for with skit plays and Christmas carols, spreading brotherhood and what God’s love can achieve in the society in general.
Agonda parish youth were led by Asstt to Parish of Agonda church Fr. Baltazar Fernandes and assisted by Bro. Sangam, who also took active part in skit play and Christmas carols. The live crib was appreciated by many as the youths moved from Somudai to Somudai in all the ten Somudai’s of Agonda.
