Panaji: In a key development in the Goa nightclub fire case, a sessions court in Mapusa has granted bail to the remaining accused, including the managers of the nightclub, bringing all accused persons in the case out on bail.
The order was passed by a sessions court in North Goa in connection with the fire incident at a nightclub in Arpora, which had led to multiple casualties and injuries. With this latest order, all those arrested in the case have now secured bail at different stages of the proceedings.
Earlier, bail had been granted to other accused, including the owners, subject to conditions such as cooperating with the investigation, not tampering with evidence, and seeking permission before leaving the country.
While granting relief to the managers, the court is understood to have imposed similar conditions to ensure their availability during the trial.
The case had sparked widespread concern over alleged lapses in fire safety measures and regulatory compliance at the establishment, prompting scrutiny of safety standards at nightlife venues across the state.
Further proceedings in the matter will continue as the court examines evidence and determines accountability in the case.
