CALANGUTE: Expressing unhappiness over developments related to Withdrawal of Bills in the House, BJP MLA Michael Lobo today said that he feels “all is not well” within the ruling dispensation despite being in majority
“It is shocking that inspite of having 33 MLAs, so many bills have been withdrawn, it feels like ‘all is not well’, many bills not been introduced at all, this has not gone well with people watching Assembly,” said Lobo
He further said that will speak to BJP Goa President Sadanand Tanavade and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
“If one bill is withdrawn there is absolutely no problem but when so many bills are withdrawn, there is a problem,” he added
Lobo said that he is responsible to the people of his constituency.
“It is not good for healthy democracy to introduce a bill and then withdraw the same. Before introducting, one should understand i.e cabinet members should understand that bills are in the interest of the people,” he said
Lobo also said that he will speak to CM and BJP president that bills which are set to be introduced should also be shown to all ruling MLAs.
After facing criticism, TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane withdrew four amendment bills, including the controversial TCP Amendment Bill The bills withdrawn included the contentious The Goa Town and Country Planning (Amendment and Validation) Bill, 2024, which evoked sharp responses and criticism from NGO, stakeholders etc
