PANAJI: Anaya Shukla and Shaurya Dessai secured their places in the semi-finals of the Under-11 Girls category at the MCC All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, currently being held at the Multipurpose Stadium in Fatorda.
Anaya delivered an impressive performance in the quarter-finals, defeating Swara Gude in straight games with a convincing 3-0 victory. Her commanding display ensured a comfortable passage into the final four of the competition.
In another quarter-final, Tvisha Kotkar overcame a strong challenge from Sanaz Shaikh in one of the most closely fought matches of the round. Tvisha held her nerve in a thrilling five-game encounter to emerge victorious with a 3-2 scoreline and secure her semi-final berth.
Vanlalhriapuii also advanced with a dominant performance, registering a 3-0 win over Claire George. The straight-games victory highlighted her consistency and control throughout the match.
Shaurya Dessai completed the semi-final lineup after producing another commanding display. She defeated Taisha Mehta 3-0, maintaining her strong run in the tournament and earning a well-deserved place in the last four.
With the quarter-final stage concluded, the semi-finals promise exciting contests as the remaining players battle for a spot in the championship match. The tournament has showcased some of Goa’s most promising young table tennis talent, with the Under-11 Girls category producing several impressive performances and competitive encounters.
