AERIAL VIEW…
If the rule is “NOT MORE THAN ONE TICKET PER FAMILY”, why should Babush and Vishwajit be given special preferences? Even Joshua D “Souza, son of former Dy CM Francis D’Souza, got a Mapusa ticket.
But the fact that remains rules is different for every leader in the party. Mind you, Michael Lobo too left the party because his wife was denied a ticket by the party.
Shockingly, BJP leaders no longer have to feel apologetic about hailing from a political family or promoting their sons or daughters.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has revised his long-held opinion on the issue of dynasties to accommodate their family interests and parental aspirations. His speech on Constitution Day, 26 November, summed it up: ‘Dynastic parties are bad, but dynasts are okay.’

The party claiming it did not promote family raj and cited the reason for denying ticket to Utpal Parrikar has today started the culture in Goa, granting two seats to the Monseratte’s and the Rane’s.
In the list of 34 candidates, the BJP has given tickets to Vishwajit Rane in Valpoi and his wife Divya in Poriem. Similarly, the BJP has announced the candidature of Babush Monseratte from Panaji and his wife Jennifer from Taleigao.
In the same breath, the BJP has denied ticket to Savitri Kavlekar, wife of Dy CM Babu Kavlekar and Parrikar’s son Utpal Parrikar.
The question arises: Why is the BJP so selective in granting tickets to family members?

He was not playing with political semantics. It was a course correction.
When I say dynastic parties, I do not mean to say that more than one person from one family shouldn’t enter politics. Jee nahin (of course not). A party does not become dynastic if more than one person of one family enters politics by virtue of their ability and blessings of the people,” Modi had said.
The BJP in theteh past has blamed the Indian National Congress (Nehru-Gandhi family), the Samajwadi Party (Yadav family), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (Karunanidhi family), Rashtriya Janata Dal (Yadav family), the Shiv Sena (Thackeray family) and the Trinamool Congress (Banerjee family), among others, are a threat to democracy.
There was a time when the BJP in Goa and Centre would deny tickets to anyone without a murmur in the party.
For instance, in the 2019 byelections, too, it denied a ticket to Utpal Parrikar and considered Siddharth Kuncoliencar – former MLA of Panaji, who had sacrificed sea for the late Manohar Parrikar constituency. But sadly, he lost to Babush Monseratte.
In the same byelections, BJP gave a ticket to the son of the late Francis D’Souza, Joshua D’Souza. Though many in BJP said it was an injustice to Utpal, the same party leaders wouldn’t say a word before the high command. Times are changing now. After the recent bypoll losses, BJP leaders across states are questioning the party’s decision to deny tickets to family members.
Pauskar, Isidore ignored..
The BJP has also denied tickets to the defectors Deepak Prabhu Pausakar, the PWD Minister and Dy Speaker Isidore Fernandes. This was simply based on teh surveys of teh party. The BJP thus rewarded the karyakartas Ramesh Tawadkar and Ganesh Gaonkar.
