Aam Aadmi Party today presented a memorandum to the Assistant Director of Transport at Mapusa asking the Transport Minister to apologize for the lies he uttered regarding cancellation of taxes including the passenger tax while not doing the same. Numerous taxi owners and goods carrier owners also accompanied the AAP delegation to the RTO.
The memorandum laments that the lying chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant has spoilt other ministers to also resort to lies and pointed out that though Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho made the lofty announcement the same has not been reflected in government officers.
“Not even a notification is issued till date regarding cancellation of the taxes then how can be believe this government that only resorts to lies and more lies,” asked Manuel Cardozo from AAP Calangute unit
“While absolutely no help was rendered to the taxi drivers by the government during the lockdown, now all they get to hear are lies. It is indeed painful to see that the government blatantly neglecting the plight of Goans some of whom even struggled to fill their stomachs” Said Shripad Pednekar from AAP’s calangute unit
The assistant Director while accepting the memorandum said he would forward it to the Deputy Director of Transport for necessary action.
