PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that the recent, targeted attack on the Hindu temple in Canada and its devotees is not only deeply concerning but also entirely unacceptable.
“The recent, targeted attack on the Hindu temple and its devotees is not only deeply concerning but also entirely unacceptable,” said Sawant
He further said that such incidents represent a direct assault on the values of peace, respect, and unity that form the foundation of any civilized society.
“We call upon the Canadian Government to take immediate, decisive action to ensure the safety and security of all religious communities within its borders,” he added
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday strongly condemned the “deliberate attack” on a Hindu temple in Canada’s Brampton and termed the violence a “cowardly attempt” to intimidate Indian diplomats in the country, making his first statement against the ongoing violence against Indians by pro-Khalistani supporters.
Taking a firm stance for Indians across the world, PM Modi asked the Canadian government to address the attacks and ensure justice to “uphold the rule of law.”
“I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. Equally appalling are the cowardly attempts to intimidate our diplomats. Such acts of violence will never weaken India’s resolve. We expect the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law,” said PM Modi in an X post.
Several other leaders, as well, came to the front to slam the series of targeted attacks in Canada against the Hindus, which Trudeau and his government have long failed to address.
