Mumbai: India recorded a current account surplus of $13.5 billion, or 1.3% of GDP, in the fourth quarter of FY2024-25, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday. This marks a sharp improvement from the $4.6 billion surplus in the same quarter last year and a turnaround from the $11.3 billion deficit in the previous quarter. The surplus was largely driven by strong growth in services exports and an increase in remittances from Indians working abroad. Despite the positive fourth-quarter performance, the overall current account for the full fiscal year remained in deficit. The deficit…

Bumrah, who featured in the opening Test at Headingley, did not take part in the team’s practice session despite travelling with the squad. Prasidh Krishna, another fast bowler in the squad, was also absent from nets training. The rest of the Indian players underwent a full practice session, raising speculation about…
New Delhi: Former India opener Aakash Chopra has sounded a strong warning to Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir, stating that with the kind of control and freedom he has been given by the selectors, it’s now time for him to deliver results—no excuses. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra said that although Gambhir guided India to a Champions Trophy victory in 2025, his record in Test cricket has been underwhelming since taking over as head coach last year. India has managed to win only three out of 11 Tests during his tenure—two against Bangladesh and one against Australia—while suffering…

AFI President and World Athletics Vice-President Adille Sumariwalla announced on Friday that the federation is conceptualising a “robust monitoring system” to ensure consistent progress among India’s vast pool of track and field athletes. The move is part of AFI’s…
