New Delhi: The population enumeration for Census 2027 will begin in Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and non-snow-bound parts of Uttarakhand from December 1, 2026, with the exercise scheduled to continue until January 4, 2027. The decision comes ahead of assembly elections expected in several of these states early next year. Team Goemkarponn PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today rolled out the Goa Ujjwala Yojana 2026, a State government initiative that will provide eligible households with Rs 3,000 a year to meet their cooking-fuel expenses during 2026-27. Team Goemkarponn ARLEM: A 42-year-old man was found dead at his residence near Peter’s Shop in Arlem, Salcete, on September 3. Maina-Curtorim Police received information about the incident from PCR Margao at around 5.28 pm. Police personnel reached the spot and found Jose Gauncar, 42, a resident of Arlem, hanging from the wooden roof of the house with a nylon rope.
