Chennai: A judicial member of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), Chennai, on Monday recused himself from hearing a plea by Byju’s Founder Byju Raveendran against the insolvency petition against his company, Think & Learn Private Ltd. Wayanad: At least 43 people died and over 70 were injured after massive landslides hit hilly areas near Meppadi in Kerala’s Wayanad district early on Tuesday. According to government sources, 250 people have been rescued from the hilly areas so far. The landslides, occurring between 2am and 4am, primarily impacted Mundakai and Chooralmala. Rescue efforts are hampered in Mundakai due to blocked roads and unstable terrain. A total of 250 personnel from Fire and Rescue, Civil Defence, NDRF, and local teams are working in Chooralmala. New Delhi: China has completed construction of a 400-metre bridge, high-resolution images of which were first published on January 2022. New images from July 22 this month show that the bridge has been black-topped with light motor vehicles plying across it. MUMBAI: “Two people were killed and 20 injured as 18 coaches of Howrah-Mumbai Mail derailed near Barabamboo. Rescue operations are on and an NDRF team is rushing to the spot,” West Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Kuldeep Chaudhary, who is camping at the accident site, told PTI. Senior Railways official Om Prakash Charan said that a goods train had also derailed nearby, but it was not yet clear whether the two accidents occurred concurrently.
