United Nations: India’s population is projected to peak in the early 2060s at about 1.7 billion and then decline by 12 per cent, but the country will remain the world’s most populous throughout the century, the United Nations has said. USA: India on Thursday abstained in the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on a resolution that demanded that Russia immediately cease its aggression against Ukraine and urgently withdraw its military from the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. The UNGA, consisting of 193 members, adopted the resolution with 99 votes in favor, nine against, and 60 abstentions. Nepal: At least 65 people are believed missing after a massive landslide swept away two passenger buses into a swollen river in Central Nepal on Friday morning. Among the missing are seven Indian nationals. The incident occurred at the Simaltal area along the Narayanghat-Mugling road in Chitwan district, where the buses disappeared into the Trishuli River amid the landslides.
