Goemkarponn desk PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that all pending payments to beneficiaries under social schemes will be done by September 15. Sawant was speaking to media on the sidelines of a government event. “Be it Social Welfare, Tribal or Women and Child schemes. The pending money will be released to all the beneficiaries before or on September 15,” said Sawant. The victim is identified as 30-year-old Kamakshi, a resident of Porvorim. According to police, the murder was committed by her ex-boyfriend post refusal of the victim refusing to continue their relationship. The accused has been identified as one Prakash Chunchwad, a 22-year-old resident of Porvorim, who was running a garage in the locality. Goemkarponn desk Panaji: Goa police have booked a septuagenarian man for allegedly molesting his 13-year-old granddaughter. Police informed that the offence was registered after receiving directions from Child Welfare Committee. “We have booked a 70-year-old man for allegedly molesting his 13-year-old granddaughter. We are investigating this case,” police said. Sources informed that the girl’s mother had approached the Child Welfare Committee with a complaint, following which the directions to police were issued. Police have registered an offense under section 8 (2) of Goa Children’s Act and section 8 & 12 of POCSO Act. Ponda police are further investigating the case.
