Goemkarponn Desk CALANGUTE: Crime Branch has arrested four bookies from Rajasthan for their operating IPL betting racket in Calangute. According, to the police, the accused have been identified as Pratap Singh, Rajveer Singh, Mohan Lal and Ajay Yadav all natives of Rajasthan. The Crime Branch said they had a tip of that they were operating IPL betting racket from guest house in Calangute. Cash and other items worth Rs 2 lakh have been seized from the accused during the raid at a guest house at Naikawado, Calangute.

The voice against the illegal quarries grows louder with every passing day. The villagers said that the quarries are causing pollution in the village by discharging polluted water into nullahs that runs into the river. Goemkarponn desk PONDA: The PWD Divison XVIII today laid foundation stone at hands of Ponda MLA Ravi Naik for reconstruction and widening of Portuguese era narrow culvert at Curti on Khandepar to Ponda City road. Following this, the traffic on this road is closed and would be diverted on alternative internal roads through Curti bypass service road to which several internal roads from City are connected.
