A day after the State hit the highest 170 positive cases in the State, the government has finally decided to go for a complete three-day lockdown from Friday July 17 to Sunday July 19. Besides this, the government has also decided to impose Janta curfew everyday from 8 pm to 6 pm everyday. Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant made this announcement at the post Cabinet press conference. “The State will go under three-day complete lockdown from coming Friday to Sunday except essential services. Goa registered the highest single day spike with 170 cases on Tuesday while also witnessing another COVID death taking the toll to 18. Sixty seven patients also recovered on Tuesday. As per the Health bulletin, the are 2753 confirmed cases with 1607 recoveries. As on date the active cases are now 1128. The bulletin further says that 52 year old one male from Chicalim, Vasco, who was admitted at ESI COVID hospital, Margao with co-morbid conditions, expired today. The State government has extended the date for filing of objections for the private forest upto 31, August 2020.
