Deepak’s brother and Madkai MLA Sudin Dhavlikar said Deepak suffered a mild heart attack and is stable now. Earlier, Deepak was found positive for COVID19 and was admitted in a private hospital. PANJIM: Goa reported highest single day recoveries with 736 patients being declared cured while 590 new cases were reported on Tuesday. As per the DHS bulletin, a 69 year old from St Inez- Panaji, 69 year old from Vasco, 60 year old from Chandor, 83 year old from St Estevem, 32 year old from Kankavli-Sindhudurg succumbed. PANJIM: The Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC) today initiated application for pre-qualification from a successful bidder for setting up Solid Waste Treatment facility at Bainguinim on Public private partnership (PPP) basis. The application is invited for the design, engineering, financing, construction, supply, installation, commissioning, performance run and operation and maintenance of 250 TPD plant for a period of ten years. In the design capacity of 250 TPD, the dry waste treatment will be 40 percent while the balance 60 percent is for wet waste. The last date for submission of the online application is November 9.

PANJIM: Following public anger, the State government has partially revised the capped rates for COVID-19 treatment in private hospitals; while also bringing in more interventions under the rates. As per the revised rates, the rent for a bed in a general ward of a private hospital would be at Rs 10,000 per day as against the earlier charges of Rs 12,000 per day. PANJIM: Under trial accused in murder case Ramchandra Yallappa today escaped from Central Jail, Colvale. According to the police sources, Yallappa climbed jail wall and ran away when all police personal posted at watch towers were asleep. Yallappa had earlier also ran away from Margao Court. The police have launched a massive search to nab him again. Yellappa (30 yrs), hails from Tamil Nadu. Ramachandra Yellappa is accused of allegedly raping a 48-year-old British tourist near South Goa’s Canacona railway station and had fled from custody while he was being shifted to a court for trial on June 28.

PANJIM: The state government today announced that the Sanjivani Sugar Factory will not be shut and a proposal has been moved in the cabinet to decide on transferring the factory from the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to the Agriculture Department.
