Panaji: Following criticism from various quarters over the huge rates, the State Government has finally capped the rates for COVID19 testing. As per the new rates notified by the Health department the fully automated RT-APCR (Gene xpert/ Abbot system) will cost Rs 2430. The semi-automatic RT-PCR (TruNat) has been capped at Rs 1400, Conventional RT-PCR (open ended system) Rs 1188 and Rapid antigen system will cost Rs 580. The above rates are inclusive of aample transportation and other costs and shall be unifoem for both government and private hospitals.
The chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that he will take review of the scuffle that reportedly took place between police and Melauli villagers, earlier today, after the government officials visited the site to undertake demarcation of IIT campus.
