PANAJI: Atanasio alias Babush Monseratte’s threat to field 80 per cent new faces at the City Corporation of Panjim elections is nothing but a gimmick to control it said Aam Aadmi Party.
Valmiki also gave an ultimatum of 48 hours to the CCP to return the goods of the small businessmen which the CCP had confiscated without any notice, and threatened to protest at the market complex if the CCP failed to return the goods.
“The CCP has confiscated goods of our small vendors without any notice. They did this in the middle of the night just like thieves. The CCP must return the goods within 48 hours, failing which, AAP along with vendors will protest at the market complex.” Said Valmiki
“While Babush says he wants to field 80% fresh faces but also says that children of current councillors should contest. He is only promoting family raj. ”
AAP leader Valmiki Naik said people of Panjim are sick and tired of Monseratte’s goons and would show them the door because of which he wants to have new faces as the old ones would not get votes.
“Monseratte is the fountain head of all scams that occurred in Panjim in the last 18 years,” said Valmiki while demanding his ouster.
He said Monseratte has been hanging on through his minions and now wants to introduce new ones as the old have become jaded.
He pointed out tha Monseratte was responsible for the FAR-FSI scam, the ODP scam and the PDA scams both of North Goa and Greater Panjim.
AAP leader Cecille Rodrigues while asserting that AAP will oppose merging Taleigao with Panjim said Monseratte wants it only to benefit the real estate lobby whose kingpin he is.
“He is not bothered about the higher cost of living that will cause nor the hardships Taleigao will face,” she said.
Valmiki said the CCP councillors were terrorising the maket vendors who were compelled not to take money for the purchases made by the councillors.
