CANACONA: In a commendable move to protect one of oldest place of worship, a meeting is held to beautify and initiate restoration works at Shri Mallikarjun Temple of Avem-Khotigao in Canacona taluka.
According to sources, GTDC officials held a meeting with a team of GLA Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar at Shri Mallikarjun Temple, Avem to plan and execute future course of action under the guidance of Ramesh Tawadkar.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Engineer of Goa Tourism Development Corporation, Prakash Pai and his team, Civil JE, Electrical JE, Private Secretary to the Speaker, Siddharth Desai, Ward Panch and ex-sarpanch (Khotigao VP) Anandu Desai, Shri Mallikarjun Devasthan, Khotigao President Sahil Desai and his committee as well as a few Mahajans.
This meeting was organized regarding the beautification and restoration work of the temple. This was a major demand of the locals for the last decade and the initiative as taken by the Speaker to fulfill is put to work’, informed PS to Speaker Desai.
Panch and ex-sarpanch Anandu Desai informed that with the patronage of Speaker, many more such public welfare works can be accomplished through his hands.-
